I received a tortie the day after my husband’s funeral . She came at full speed running past me on the deck. She turned around, stopped then ran full speed towards me. She jumped in me lap, turned over on her back and began licking my face. That was the first time I had seen her up close and she refused to leave. I realized later that that she belonged to the neighbors next door, but they had 3 dogs inside and she would not go inside. After 3 weeks of camping on my deck she made herself at home and would not leave. She has been a blessing (and a bane) but always she makes me feel better with her kisses and naps on my lap. I believe she was a gift from God to help me through those difficult days. She even wakes me up at night when my blood sugar drops while I am sleeping
