Of the Pet Friendly House

The Pet Friendly House will look like many others across North America from the outside, however the yard and interior will be what sets it apart as ‘pet friendly”. All rooms will contain pet amenities, art and accessories as well as functionality that will help make pet ownership more enjoyable.

The House

To state the intent of the project in its simplest terms, we are building a home the way homes for pet lovers should be built.

The Dogs Room

Imagine what a dogs room would look like if they had a paw in the design, picture a room with their favorite toys, clothes… a TV to watch their favorite movie characters, fresh/cold water just steps a way. A bed that was custom made just for them… and so much more

The Kitchen

It’s always easy to find your pets, just open the fridge door. We will use the kitchen of the Pet Friendly House to cook treats for our pets and run some fun promotions such as bringing in chefs to cook for the dogs. On top of that you will find custom feeding bowls, artwork and a large aquarium.

The Living Room

As we shape the concept for the living room in our ‘Pet Friendly’ house, the design will capture the spirit of a true pet lover. Playful, pet-inspired art, décor, and accents will bring the space to life, with paintings and prints from around the world on display—many of which will be offered in contests on our site. Comfortable sofas, chairs, and recliners will be upholstered in durable performance fabrics or leather, combining style with practicality.

Master Bedroom

Though the dog has its own room and amenities, the master bedroom remains elegantly simple, with thoughtful touches for our furry friends. A plush custom dog bed at the foot of the bed invites cozy sleepovers, while a sunlit bench offers the perfect perch for a dog or cat to watch the world go by.

Fish Room

The lower level family room (basement) will contain a place to relax, play games, enjoy the tranquility of an of a 275 gallon aquarium and watch some TV.

Bonus Room

This room is all about relaxing after a long days work, a place where the family can sit, watch a show or two and unwind.

Spare Room

A welcoming spare room designed with a pet theme blends comfort and practicality. Durable floors, washable fabrics, and built-in nooks support furry guests, while playful artwork and soft lighting create warmth. It functions as a cozy retreat for visitors, pets, and quiet moments together.

Boys Room

This thoughtfully designed second bedroom reflects our son Owen’s passions and personality. Inspired by his love of skiing, football, hockey, and gaming, the space blends comfort and style, creating the perfect place to relax, play, and hang out with friends.

Mud Room

Every dog or cat owner knows the struggle of muddy paw prints on the floor—or worse, on the furniture—and the occasional less-than-pleasant surprise from a playful pet. To keep furry friends clean before they roam the house, the mudroom is equipped with a dedicated pet shower for effortless, stress-free cleanup. It also offers neatly organized space for leashes, collars, cozy sweaters, and even doggy shoes for those particularly hot or chilly days.

Home Office

Warm wood shelving frames a serene home office where modern design meets pet-friendly comfort. A sleek desk, soft seating, and layered lighting balance productivity and relaxation, while curated art, greenery, and cozy textures create an inviting, thoughtfully organized workspace filled with natural light and calm.
